:slider_thankyou: This rocks! I'd gotten bored with the regular version of the megahood, tired of having to give many of them surgery then make it genetic. This will be so much more fun!

The Viejo household already will be giving the neighbors much to gossip about. Andrew Martin has already gotten both Betty & Catherine pregnant. :slapnut:

I've been thinking of adding in some of the relationships that they used to have, like the Oldies being Mary-Sue's parents. If I use TJ's blender to do that, then use SimPE to make the family tree look right it should work ok, right? This will be the first time I've done stuff with the family tree so I want to make sure I don't flub it up.

Thanks again for the awesome sims! :give_rose:
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

your very welcome! :cheese:

Trif knows more about family ties then I do but I was thinking about re-connecting some of them myself. I was just going to do it (if I do it) all in Simpe. I don't see why you couldn't do it with both though.

To me once you firgue out how to do it in SimPE, it is easier to do it there when multiple edits are needed. Doing it in game with the blender is good for a quick and dirty fix, but when you want to bring grandparents, cousins, etc into the mix...

I started it off last night editing the relationships and family ties in SimPE, but I must have blown up something. Partway through editing the relationships between the Oldies & the Pleasants I started getting a "error while attempting to write to character" message (or something like that) when I'd try to commit the changes. I'm not sure exactly what I must have done, I was following a tutorial carefully. Good thing for remembering to make a backup before I begin. I'll practice more with a test 'hood to get it down correctly.

So far using the SimBlender, then following up with SimPE to fix the family tree (if needed) seems to be helping me to avoid mistakes. I created elders Jeff & Diane Pleasant, and Glarn & Kitty Curious, I've made them part of the relevant families. I gave adult Denise Jaquet Romance as her secondary aspiration so she has been entertaining some "gentleman callers." Thanks to ACR she's now pregnant by Daniel Pleasant. :spiteful:

I've been setting up another hood with everyone (this time, I've divided them up between a downtown and the basehood). Well I spent around 8 hours yesterday just going from house to house and upgrading the adults/elders with Uni want slots and FT points, giving them the Asp benefits for their main, improving family relationships etc...Then re-packaging the houses so I don't have to do this all again.

I get to the Goth house which is pretty much already set up, just had to do a couple things. Well Mortimer and Bella really wanted to have some fun. ACR kept kicking in but I kept stopping them so I could finish what I was doing. I finally finished, saved, exited and repackaged the Lot, then I re-entered and sent the kids off to school. ACR kicks right in and Mortimer must have been pretty frustrated from having to wait because he went straight for TFB! no kissing or anything first! :slapnut:

the best part is...he knocked Bella up with twins :slapnut:

That sounds about right for one of your hoods! A preview of what is in store for it, perhaps?

I hope not since the game finally stopped giving me tons of twins! I even went so far as to finally allow the Asp twin benefit... actually I had forgotten about that benefit when I decided that Maxis/EAxis sims had to take all four of the Main Asps benefits before choosing a secondary Asp. :tongue2: Some of them may get a Asp change when/if I play them... :fnorky:

The work column is very helpful too, before moving into the secondary.

not for me. I usually limit promotions (and skill points) for my sims to keep them all from getting rich. :spiteful:

Now that I'm using Inge's mortgage shrubs, I let them have expensive houses and they get to struggle to pay them off. :spiteful:

poor sims - I give them mortgage shrubs to increase the amount of money being paid out. With the money the mortgage shrubs give them, they either get to spend it on stuff that gets stuck in their inventory (for emergencies) or the stuff is given away (usually to Steve).

middle class sims - like poor sims, they get a few shrubs to increase what gets paid out but they get jobs that pay more so they can afford a few extras and/or a nicer house.

rich sims tend to just keep getting richer
...partly because my rich sims have been the Jenkins who earned their way out of middle class.
...and partly because I haven't decided how to handle rich sims yet but I will have to soon since so many of these Maxis/EAxis sims are rich.

I have a couple of sweat shops I built for Ownable businesses. Robot factory, toy, flower, I even built a publishing house, but that was a lot more work on my part every time a sim completed a novel, telling them to write another... Anyway, have sims slaving away and the owner selling the stuff out of their inventory.

Edit: you could also put Inge's institution sign on employee sims home lots so the only time they earn money is when you play the sweat shop owner and call them into work...

That works.

I have built one of those. Sort of a twinplex with the business on one side, a bar/game room/bedrooms on the other... "home" business...<g> Thank god for ACR's ability to turn Jealousy off on the Madame's husband...

I think about it, buy it and then sell it.... The only thing I've been able to make money at was with a service from the home *pleasure provider* and a token machine... One of these days....
Some days are really after you... if they don't get you... the idiots will...ROFL!

Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying these sims this weekend - thanks so much for all your hard work! Oh, and Isabel Baldwin is the first pregnant lady in my new hood (other than Brandi that is)! :good:
