I finally got around to checking Hair DNA on the sims I aged down and according to their DNA,

Pollination tech #9 (renamed to Techienine) - should have red hair
Olive Specter - should have brown hair
Denise Jacquet - should have red hair
Coral Oldie - should have red hair
Herb Oldie - should have red hair
Catherine Viejo - should have brown hair
Betty Goldstein - should have brown hair
Herbert Goodie - should have brown hair
Faith Goodie - should have black hair
Carlos Contender - should have red hair
Dora Ottomas - should have brown hair

When I aged them down, some of them may have gotten the right hair color but I know most of them didn't. It never crossed my mind when I was aging them down (and stuff) to check their DNA and give them the correct hair color.

Most of the time when an elder is aged down their hair defaults to blonde. I would guess that this is the color EAxis links their grays to, lol.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Herbert came with the right color of hair, at least, though I found Faith's pretty quickly and already knew the Oldies' genetics so I fixed them right after I put them in my game. I also knew PT9's hair, but I don't think I've opened their house yet so it's probably still wrong.

It's funny, actually, not a single one of them actually is blonde!

yes, that had me laughing. Carlos Contender looked ok as a blond but the rest look better with their proper hair color, although I quite liked Polli-Tech 9 with blond and black hair.

So when they are aged down, they all get blonde hair *for the most part & kind of knew that*? Once they are aged down do you need to fix anything in Simpe? or can you just use the Blender to give them the correct hair color?

I checked Faith's genetics in game with the DNA command in the cheat box, so I think that their DNA is intact, just their hair is off.

yes, you just have to "change appearance" in the mirror and change their hair color (same for their eyebrows). If I remember right, Luis Aspir genetically has brown hair.

I figured they just all dye their hair. ;) Makes it a bit more interesting, and a fun surprise when they have kids. Strangely though I've had some weird issues at times when I age an elder to adult. Sometimes I lose the ability to change their eyebrows, it's grayed out. I'm not sure why that happens.

I had a feeling Dora Ottomas was genetically a brunette when one of her twins by Jason Cleveland had brown hair. The other twin is blonde. Dora's pregnant again, this time from a brief fling with Vidcund Curious (they practically ran to the photo booth at my nightclub). And wouldn't you know it, twins again! :slapnut: I'll probably have Vidcund marry Delilah O'Feefe instead, now that she's in college they've become one of those 3 bolt couples that are glued at the hip. Plus I have plans for Dora to remain unmarried with a large brood. Pascal married Sissy Slater and Lazlo fell head over heels into a 3 bolt romance with none other than Florence Delarosa, who is expecting his twins (natural, no cheesecake or cheat). I'm beginning to think Kitty will get her want of 20 grandchildren.

I built a couple Greek houses for the teens after they move to Uni, it's a constant party. :spiteful: Of course I named the sorority house Tri-Hoh. ;) I bet a few of them will be "Big Sim on Campus" from all their "friends with benefits." I'm beginning to think Jared Starchild is secretly a Romance sim, as ACR motivates him to woohoo nearly every female he meets. I've never known another Family sim with such an active libido, well other than Brandi Broke. No plans for Cassandra to marry Don in this 'hood, she moved into the same dorm as Tybalt Capp and wow, the two can't keep their hands off each other! Mortimer should be quite thrilled that his daughter will be marrying into another "upper-crust" family. Not much drama in my version, other than a bit of the usual infidelities, just having a blast seeing who falls in love with whom and how cute their kids end up being.

This neighborhood is so much fun. Thanks again, SC. :D
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

That usually happens to me but making them change appearance again usually got the eyebrows section working so it wouldn't be grayed out. Usually I have to age them down to adult, then down to teen (to get rid of the gray hair), change their appearance (sometimes twice cause of the eyebrows), then age them up to adult again and again change appearance to get them looking the way I want.

I'm so glad your having so much fun with them! I hadn't even thought about the Capps and Montys being "upper-crust" families that Mortimer would approve of. I'll have to rethink Cassandra's storyline. I haven't been able to decide if she would actually get to marry Don this time or not. I'll have to spend a little time with those two families...my rotation is going to get even longer I think. :tongue2:

Plus, before you finally get back to the Bell's, we still don't know what was up with the random visit to the Aspir's from Puck.

My first post had to be here! Even if it means necromancy!

I've been spending most of the evening looking at your stuff Sleepycat because I found yesterday a link you provided to this thread in the "Uber-Megahood fixed" post at MATY.

See, like many of you probably, I found the Uber mega hood way too big for me to enjoy playing. Too many families are in that hood and there are many I do not care to play with at all or I do not even want them to be part of the hood.

Imagine the joy when I find this thread. I can now do my OWN mega hood choosing from all of these fixed families thanks to you!

I tried Sims 3 but I just can't get into it. Maybe later when there will be a few eps out I will try it again but for now I concentrate on Sims 2.

I wanted to thank you for all the hours you put in this. :armflowers:

I also downloaded some of your houses and SC4 terrains since I am not much of a builder and I do not have Sim City. :whistling:

Since I did not want to thank you in each of the post I downloaded stuff from (I did not want to flood the forum or look a bit over the top), consider this at least 25 thank you's from me. :D

So again a huge thanks you.

:3hearts:

MissDoh, It's so nice to see you here! :waving:

We don't care about necromancy here, specially when it comes to our stories (many of which require access to our adult sections) and downloads. :teehee:

yes, I found the mega hood to be too big and too full of fugly sims (never even tried the Uber fixed version) so I finally got around to doing this project. I love being able to choose which sims/families to put in my hoods. I have sometimes put them all in (plus others) but most were meant to just be there and maybe play eventually. I like a lot of them much better now that they aren't fugly. ;)

It was a project that I knew I had to share. So anyone who felt like I did could enjoy making their own mega hoods or mini-mega hoods. :armflowers:

I too tried TS3 but by the end of July I was bored and extremely frustrated with it and returned to TS2 and got hooked on it all over again.

I hope you enjoy using my houses and terrains. :D

your very welcome at least 25 times! :gimmiehug:

Thanks for the warm welcome. Seems like a really nice place here. :)

It is nice to know that we can revive old post here if we need it.

There is an adult section here! Where is it?

I am not sure I have access to it right now and if I do, could you explain to me how to get there. I would love to read your stories and all the others too that have that little extra twist. :spiteful: :teehee:

:cheese:

For access to the adult section, you just need to send The ISZ a PM with your date of birth

Bringing back the "dead" here usually means more fun and laughs here... especially when involving the stories, and then all over again with Sleepy's stuff. It's just amazing what she does. :yank: And you aren't trolling or 12s... so that makes it even better! *By 12s meaning actions rather than age :teehee: *

Great to know! Thanks. And I agree, she is doing amazing stuff.

And yes, I am a very polite person *cough*. I might even post pics of my mega hood version (in the appropriate section of course) if I can remember to take pics that is. :cheese:

PM sent to the ISZ so for now I am sitting back and drinking my coffee very slowly until the magic happens. I am a patient woman so it will take the time is has to take.

I might also start my game soon and continue to set up that hood. I was proud of myself because I thought of doing a back-up of my N0XX folder before I added any families and after I set up my downtown section so I won't have to do this again if I want to change and play with different families later (or simply think of another storyline).

I very rarely add a Uni or business section to my hoods since I find Uni rather boring to play (and there is the FFS debugger to upgrade them) and I use the business section only if I lack space since we can put business in any section and they work fine.

I never played Desiderata Valley or Belladona Cove sims and/or families (except for the witches sisters in Belladona Cove) so I do not know any of them, are there any that are a must have in a mega hood? I would love to hear your suggestions. I love drama in my game, makes it more fun.

:crylaugh: You'll change your mind about playing uni again once you start reading sleepy's stories, believe me! I've recently just downloaded the sims in this thread and whopped them all down in the one hood. Decided this way I could have them all there and there would be more choice for my sims to play with. Having them all there doesn't mean you have to actually play the house since the sims you decide to play will probably end up meeting the ones you haven't played anyhow. I have Steve's boys just in the one house ready and available for all my lady sims, but never actually play the house itself.

My problem is that unless I turn some of them into townies, a little voice in my head will say "play them if you do not want them unsynchronize". That is from past experience and why I stop playing cc hoods I made a few days after I started to play them because I just kept on adding and adding families in it. :( It is nice to have a variety of sims I agree and since I made sure that the default townies are not part of that hood I am in need of a few townies anyhow. My main problem is too choose whom I turn into townies and which of those families or single sim I should actually play from Desiderata Valley or Belladona Cove because I know nothing about their history and if they are fun to play with at all.

I promised myself to take it slow this time and anyhow, families can be added at any point in a hood can't they. ;)

I will definitely take the time to read Sleepycat's stories now that I have access to them all. :D

I am not saying I won't ever add a Uni section, I probably will when I feel it is really important for a specific sim to go threw that process instead of using a quick fix. I did not feel like it was important for me to do so right now and will surely have more enthusiasm to decorate and create it when I feel it is actually needed. Right now I have a feeling it would just be a waste of time.

But thanks for the suggestion, I am sure reading fun Uni stories will help me wanting that section for sure.

A question though. I notice there are more than eight sims packed together (Capp and Uni Sims) and I do not have a mod permitting me to have more then 8 sims on a lot so I guess I should stay away and not install them unless I add such a mod?
